Your novel is somewhere between:

'this is promising' and 'what even is this?'

You’ve written a draft (or most of it). You’ve got scenes, characters, maybe even a beginning and an ending

But something’s off. The structure’s shaky or the voice is flat or the midpoint might be... not even in the middle

Draft Lab is a 5-week group coaching program that helps you sharpen your structure, fix what’s not working, and finally figure out what your book actually needs to move forward

Not just to feel finished but to feel true to the book you set out to write

What is Draft Lab?

You’ve written a draft (or most of one)
You’re not just playing around You’re working toward something real

Draft Lab is for writers who want their book to go somewhere—toward publication, submission, or simply a version they’re proud to show others
It’s a practical, clear-eyed next step for shaping the story you've already started

In five weeks, you’ll:
✔ Understand what’s working (and what’s not)
✔ Make smart structural and editorial decisions
✔ Build a stronger draft and know exactly what comes next

What you'll walk away with

By the end of Draft Lab, you’ll have:

A sharper, clearer draft
Practical tools to edit your own work
A plan for what to focus on next (and how to actually do it)
Less overwhelm from holding everything in your head
A small group of writer friends who get it... and you

How it works

Each week, you’ll get:

🎥 Bite-sized video lessons (10–20 mins)
Short, sharp craft content you can watch anytime—refined from my Get Published program and tailored for this format

💬 Live 45-min Zoom calls
Craft-focused group sessions with space to ask questions, share struggles, and connect with writers in the trenches too (Yes, they’re recorded)

🛠 Practical weekly takeaways
Leave each week knowing what to work on and how to approach it

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1 – Hone Your Character
Revisit your protagonist: their wants, needs, contradictions. Are they still the person you started writing about--or have they shapeshifted into someone more interesting?

Week 2 – Structure (Part 1)
Zoom out to see the shape of your story. This week we'll also focus on your novel's first 25%. We’ll check your hook, inciting incident, and early momentum

Week 3 – Structure (Part 2)
Now the back half. We’ll work on midpoints, turning points, and the scaffolding of your ending

Week 4 – Beginnings, Endings & Dialogue
Make sure your story starts strong, ends stronger—and your dialogue doesn’t sound like plot in disguise

Week 5 – Editing Your Work
Learn how to step back, edit without spiralling, and actually finish the next version of your book

This is for you if...

  • You’ve got a draft or WIP that needs a glow-up
  • You’re aiming for traditional publication (but you’re not quite submission-ready)
  • You’re stuck or looping and not sure what to fix next
  • You’re trying to edit and fix stuff but also HOW?!!
  • You want accountability without the overwhelm
  • You’re craving feedback, community, and a plan that actually works
